Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 - 7th August 2021

Arrive in Edinburgh. You will be transferred to the Bonham in Edinburgh City Centre and you can then enjoy the colour and excitement of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival by foot (no further transport today).

Wander down the medieval, cobbled Royal Mile from the clifftop 12th century Castle to the Palace of Holyroodhouse at the bottom and be thrilled by all of the attractions on the way.

Stay at the elegant Bonham Hotel for 2 nights.

Day 2 -8th August 2021

Explore Edinburgh's vibrant redeveloped docklands of Leith where you can board the Royal Yacht Britannia, retired from ‘ruling the waves’ and now opening her doors for you to discover her royal secrets at your leisure! Visit the Botanic Gardens which have remarkable gardens and glasshouses to explore, some of which date to the 18th century.

No transport today as Edinburgh is a city best explored by foot/ taxi/ tram.

Attend the Edinburgh Military Tattoo this evening.

Stay at the Bonham Hotel.

Day 3 - 9th August 2021

Meet your Driver at your accommodation and travel up the River Forth to Stirling Castle and Wallace Monument, strategically positioned over a flood plain, on the edge of the Highlands and steeped in Scotland’s bloody history.

Travel east to Scone Palace, near Perth, where the Kings of Scotland were crowned and the original home of the Stone of Destiny. Spend the afternoon in the Palace’s glorious grounds enjoying Perth’s annual Highland Games, a spectacle of heavyweights, wrestling, Highland dancing and pipes and drums.

Travel to the Kingdom of Fife and head to the picturesque coastal village of Elie.

Stay 2 nights at The Ship Inn, Elie overlooking the stunning Elie Bay.

Day 4 - 10th August 2020

Travel to the nearby charming fishing village of Pittenweem to enjoy a day at the celebrated Art Festival which runs for 8 days and takes over the village, showcasing the wonderful talents of all kinds of artists from all over Britain in houses,garages, shops and on the pier. Explore the villages along Fife’s historic coastline with their ancient, working harbours, narrow streets and painted houses and sample the renowned local shellfish.

Stay at the Ship Inn.

Day 5 - 11th August 2021

Depart homeward bound
